On November 14th, during 5th Period, our fabulous Olympia Percussion Chamber Ensemble will be doing a sendoff performance in the auditorium in preparation for a competition we are going to. This is an International Percussion Convention known as PASIC that is incredibly selective with who is invited to participate. Students are flying out to Indianapolis Thursday morning. This is the highest honor our percussion studio has ever received just to be invited and I know they will represent Olympia and OCPS well.
You may receive an email from some of our 6th and 7th Period band students asking if they can come watch during your 5th Period class. If they are taking an important test, I have informed them that they need to be in class and that you will say no. However, with your permission they may come watch our performance run to support their peers. This should not take more than 15-20 minutes so they will be sent back to class afterward. I apologize for the late notice and do not wish for this to impact their classes. If it is your planning period we would love to have you drop by and watch!
