We took 14 /20 of our girls and 8/12 boys to the 4A Region 2 meet! We did not go unnoticed for several reasons; we started off great with 100% capped and ready to dive in at 8:00AM – our warm-up leaders did a fantastic job and you all looked well put together and such a strong unit – following warmup we had to move off the bleachers (we got pushed into a tiny corner and Fareed took the initiative to move the team to the diving area) – captains lead us in cheer and then off we went with swimming the Regional events – one after another the coaches watched our athletes do their job; checking with coaches before swims, warm-up correctly, get to the blocks on time, focused to race!  cooldown, then check in with coaches after races, SWIMMING your very best focused efforts – at time the outcomes may not have been what they all expected but the sportsmanship prevailed – overall cheering for your teammates was over the top!!

The ultimate reward is to qualify for the 4A State team – there are no words for the dedication, talent, resilience, and the art of all the stars aligning (which as humans we really do not have control over this so, some may just call it luck? but do not forget all the so-called “NO words” I stated) in that moment one is swimming! They only get that moment, when in the whole scheme of things there is so much more to what they have put into their sport. Reminder: 4A FHSAA selections is the top 24 in the state of Florida
