“Capturing in five, four, three, two… good morning Titans!” Every day, our students are greeted with our very own morning show, produced by Titan TV. Although it is overseen by our Digital Videography teacher, Mrs. Lara Ibarra, the show is almost completely led and created by students. Let’s take a peek
Through hard work and dedication, Senior Isabella Jaber, one of the executive producers has been a part of this program for three years. She has many good memories filming with the crew, however, her favorite episode to produce was the Senior Show from last year. “It was really special to be able to show the graduating seniors how much they meant to all of us and the impact they had on everyone in the class,” Jaber explained.
Being one of the executives, Jaber exudes both accountability and responsibility. “There are a few qualities we want our crew members to have, but the main ones are a commitment to the program, good video-making abilities, and being able to work well in a team,” she stated. That teamwork is the backbone of Titan TV’s success. “Every video begins with an idea,” Jaber s explains. Once they have the concept, they create the script and cast the actors. The next step involves filming the video, followed by the editing process. “After the editing is complete, the video is reviewed and approved by two individuals on the leadership team before being submitted for airing on the show,” Jaber clarified.
Jaber believes that participating in Titan TV benefits students across Olympia in many different ways. “Being in TItan TV lets a student showcase their creative side and gives them an opportunity to see what producing a news show is like.” She elaborated by saying, “For the rest of the student body, they get updated daily with school news such as club meetings and sports events and kept entertained with funny skits and themed shows.” This shows how much the Olympia student body can connect and have an engaging school life through a news program.
As Jaber closes this chapter of her life and goes onto the next, she hopes to leave behind a lasting legacy for the next generation of Titans. “I want to leave the next group of students with a creative space where they can make fun, entertaining videos and a solid foundation on how to create assets for the show,” Jaber said. For her, Titan TV isn’t just another class, it’s one step closer towards her dream career. “My goal in relation to digital videography after graduating is to become a director,” she stated. She is beyond grateful to be involved in such an amazing news program. “Being a part of Titan TV has really shown me everything that goes into producing a show or video, and I have really come to love every aspect of it,” she continued. As the cameras stop rolling and another episode wraps, Jaber’s journey with Titan TV stands as proof of what passion and teamwork can create. From brainstorming ideas, to producing phenomenal shows, she has helped shape a program that connects the Olympia community every morning. Although her time behind the Titan TV desk is nearing its end, her creativity and leadership will continue to inspire future crews for years to come.
