The Super Bowl is the annual league championship of the NFL. Every year, millions of people get together to watch the game, either at home or in person. People host Super Bowl parties and decorate their houses with merch from their favorite NFL team. It has always been a big deal who wins; scripts are even made about how the game will go and who will come out on top.
Personally, when it comes to the NFL I don’t watch much, but this year I have started to take an interest. By watching, I’ve started to gain some knowledge that allows me to make some predictions on how it will pan out. I believe that the Kansas City Chiefs will make it to the Super Bowl once again for the third year in a row, to play against the Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles have shown strength with a great season, as their run currently stands this year with 14 wins and only 3 losses so far. Although the Swiftie/Kelce fans are going to hate it, I predict that the Philadelphia Eagles will win Super Bowl LIX this year. That’s my theory for the Super Bowl- let’s see what a couple of members of our family at OT think.
One of Olympia’s Mathematics teachers, Mr. Sean Wells, will have the game on as background noise, tuning in here and there. He will be cooking a big meal rather than actually watching the game. He is interested in who will make it to the Bowl and who’ll come out on top, as any NFL fan would be. Mr. Wells’ thoughts on the Super Bowl outcome are similar to many others. “Until someone beats the Chiefs, that’s who I’m going with as a winner,” Mr. Wells stated while also quoting Ric Flair: “To be the man, you gotta beat the man.”
I also asked another football fan, Journalism/Yearbook/Newspaper teacher Mrs. Amy Preston about her plans and thoughts for the Super Bowl. Mrs. Preston has been paying attention to the games this season, and although her favorite team is the Browns, the Lions have also caught her eye. They’ve been a fun team to watch, and she’s enjoyed their success so far. As far as the ‘Big Game’ and who comes out on top, she has hopes for “the Eagles, but with the Chiefs winning 2 years in a row it’s not hard to guess they might come out on top once again,” Mrs. Preston shared. In addition to her predictions, she added “I will be hosting a Super Bowl party with my brother and his family just to spend some quality time with them.”
Nevertheless, the Super Bowl is an annual event that millions of Americans gather to watch, spending time with family, friends, and even strangers who share a similar love for the game. Even though many people have the same prediction for the outcome of the game, the Super Bowl LIX title is still up for grabs.
