A New Year’s celebration is almost here and this is another moment in which you get to spend time with your friends and family! It’s the moment where you get to pick out your resolutions and accomplish them throughout the year. Now let’s see some responses from other students who are excited about the new year!
“I would like to have better time management so that I can do more things outside of school and martial arts,” sophomore Elizabeth Pafford stated. “Additionally, I want to get another job, so I can start saving up for the future.”
This is just one example of how students are interested in out of school activities that can help them in their life, not only just grades and scores from classes. Pafford also stated how she wanted to get a job as well and this shows how she is preparing for her future. Now let’s see what she is going to do for New Years.
“I am very excited for New Years and like I do every year, I will meet up with my old friends, and we’ll do fireworks in our driveway,” Pafford declared. “It’s always a fun time and I look forward to it every year.”
New Years is the time when you get to spend time with your family and friends. Light fireworks and have fun!
“My New Year’s resolution is to mostly get through the school year and pass,” sophomore Fiona Wang declared.
All students have a goal of passing all their classes and feel proud of themselves at the end of the year. Let’s see what she is going to do for New Years!
“Yeah, I’m looking forward to New Year’s. I don’t know if I could do anything special, but I might light a few fireworks and countdown!” Wang stated.
Fiona is doing the same, simple activity for New Years as well, lighting fireworks and counting down!
“My New Year’s resolutions fluctuate depending on where I am mentally at the start of the year, but they’ve ranged from reading more books to getting more exercise or something to that effect,” sophomore Oliver Lund said.
Oliver’s New Year’s resolution is getting more exercise, which is an excellent thing. Many students need exercise and it’s a good thing that many people have started realizing.
“I’m excited to see what the future has in store for us. This year certainly had its ups and downs, but that’s honestly just part of life. I’m not going to stay in the past for my own sake. On New Year’s Eve I’ll count down the last remaining seconds, very much in anticipation of the unknown ahead. Maybe I’ll be the last to stay up, or perhaps I’ll give in early. I find that statement represents my upcoming possibilities,” Lund declared.
He says how he wishes that he will find something during New Years to get prepared for next year.
“I think my New Year’s resolution is to better control my immediate assumption that people won’t like me. The context is that I was really nervous about joining a new cast because I didn’t know anyone and thought they wouldn’t like me like another cast I worked with. Everyone was really nice and inclusive when I first met them, but we will start rehearsing in January, so this is where my resolution becomes really relevant,” freshman Ava Maria Petroski said.
Many people make assumptions like “Oh I might not fit in this group” or “Oh they might not enjoy my presence”. But most times that’s not true, there will be a time when people will completely respect you in general. Never make assumptions and that’s what Ava’s New Year’s resolution is about.
“My family is still undecided about what to do for New Years. Sometimes we get together, but a big event on New Years is that it’s my parents’ anniversary of getting married. Whatever ends up happening, we get off from school either way!” Petroski declared.
This is really romantic as sometimes special events like weddings or anniversaries can happen on days like New Years. This makes the day more special and fun.
Overall, New Year’s is coming and this is a wonderful time to celebrate with your friends and family. So make sure to light fireworks, countdown, and have fun!
