In the midst of every spring, Universal Orlando Resort hosts Grad Bash for all seniors graduating. Universal itself even calls it a “once in a lifetime” event. It is one of the last moments in a student’s life where they can truly celebrate all that they’ve accomplished and how far they’ve come. Right next to graduation and prom, Grad Bash is an event that all seniors look forward to participating in because it signifies a celebration of their high school years coming to an end as well as the start of a new chapter in life.
Attending Grad Bash means you’ll be able to explore Universal’s two parks, “Universal Islands of Adventure” and “Universal Studios Florida”. All seniors and chaperones will have a secure and private event within these two parks in order to have as much fun as they can. Let’s see how our future graduates are feeling.
One of our future grads, James Dorcent, expressed that he can’t wait for Grad Bash to roll around. When asked why, he explained that he just wants to enjoy the food and explore Universal’s “Jurassic Park”. Grad Bash runs from 6pm-3am so I wondered how James felt about it. He said “I’m concerned. I don’t usually stay out that long and I don’t know if I would want to. Plus we can only come and go on the school bus, we can’t leave or arrive by ourselves.” If other students feel like this, then maybe Grad Bash times should be cut down a bit. Maybe Grad Bash should be hosted during school hours for the seniors, or, for instance, on a 9-5 schedule.
Next I interviewed another one of our seniors, Fabrizio, regarding his opinion about Grad Bash. “I’m most excited about going on the Veloci-Coaster” when asked about his most anticipated ride. He expressed that he feels like 6pm-3am at Universal is perfect because it leaves time in the day for regular guests and then leaves the rest of the night secured for seniors only. I asked Fabrizio one last question, “Should Grad Bash be hosted somewhere else instead of Universal? Like Disney?” Interestingly, his response was “no” because he feels that Universal holds more amusement meant for older ages while attractions at Disney are more for younger audiences. I believe most seniors can agree with this.
As previously stated, for quite a while now Grad Bash has been one of the most anticipated events for seniors outside of their own graduation. It is a moment to have fun with friends and to make lasting memories within one’s last year of high school. Grad Bash signifies the conclusion of the senior year and it truly is a time of celebration.
