Thanksgiving season is here and this is the time of the year to celebrate with family and friends. We are going to see how different people spend Thanksgiving.
Sophomore Michelle Xiao starts off by sharing what she is thankful for and what Thanksgiving represents to her. “I am thankful to my friends and family,” Xiao declared. “Thanksgiving in November represents a great way to gather around the people you love and celebrate gratitude and peace,” Xiao stated.
In this case, it means a great way to hang out with family and friends. Spending time with your loved ones is majorly important during Thanksgiving as you get to feel connected and happy. “I’m going to visit my cousin’s family and spend time with them,” Michelle Xiao said. This quote shows the special event that she is doing during Thanksgiving. She is spending time with her cousins, which shows how close they are to each other.
Sophomore Sarena Van Baalen is not only thankful for her family but the people she has met in her life that have helped her a lot. “I am thankful for all the people I have met in my life who have helped me get to where I am today,” Van Baalen said.
This shows how some people are thankful for different things in life and there are different reasons for why they are thankful.
“Thanksgiving is a time for family and giving to others. Not everyone is fortunate as me and my family are, so it’s a great time to give to those in need,” Van Baalen added. This is what Thanksgiving means to Van Baalen as she talks about the time for family and giving to others. So not only does Thanksgiving mean spending time with family members, but also with giving a great time to those in need.
Sophomore Emmaline Lee is thankful for her family and friends around school and particularly in life. “I’m very thankful for my family and friends that have helped me and supported me always,” Lee shared. Lee also mentioned how she cares for the people who have supported her and helped her with different challenges. “I feel like thanksgiving is a time that I know I’ll have with my family every year,” Lee said.
This is what Lee says Thanksgiving means to her as it’s the time in which she will spend with her family. Thanksgiving also means that different people will have different reasons to be thankful for.
Taking a turn from what other people said, Sophomore Julia Garofala shares that she is thankful for the everyday activities that make her smile.“I am thankful for the little things that make me smile, like a good day or a funny moment,” sophomore Julia Garofalo said. “It’s about hanging out with people you care about, feel grateful, and of course good food,” Garofalo emphasized.
Thanksgiving is the time in which you spread time with the people that you love, but also eat really good food! Not only does Thanksgiving mean spending time with each other but also the unity and celebration of all the good things in life. Enjoy Fall Break, and the time off to spend with your loved ones, eat good food, and have fun!
