There is a new energy being brought to the Friday Night Football Games, brought to us by a dynamic Dance Team known as the Titanettes. This group of girls is elevating game-day with their unique majorette style!
The Titanettes perform at Olympia’s field every home game each Friday to give the crowd an intricate routine. Their performances will mash up many genres of dance showcasing their teamwork and cohesive choreography. The Dance Team plays a special role in enhancing one of the many aspects of the Friday Night Lights culture. The Titanettes heighten viewers attention by providing entertainment to the crowd during timeouts, halftimes, and even during the game to cheer on the players. Their captivating performances not only bring light to the talent of the girls but also contributes to the energetic atmosphere of the games.
With this being a new program here at Olympia, some might wonder about the longevity within this company. Nevertheless, the Titanettes are here to stay.
“We are not afraid or intimidated because we have been doing this outside of school for years. We feel that we were brought here for a purpose which in my eyes is to shake things up a bit and bring out something new and a little different, it’s all about the confidence,” Dance Team captain, senior Kenijah Butler said.
The Titanettes bring something new and special every week when they perform, they are keen on staying up to date with their choreography and keeping the viewers on their toes! The girls hold themselves to a high standard when it comes to putting on a show.
“Some expectations we have for the team is that we all work as a team. But more importantly [as] a sisterhood to come to one another for anything and everything. Along with that we want to accomplish more styles of dance, ballet being at the top of our list,” Butler said.
Be sure to look out for the Titanettes this Football season Performing on Friday Night Home Football Games!
