Titan TV stands as a beacon for students eager to join the world of news broadcasting. For those considering joining, you must know what the program entails.
“Titan TV is an elective class all about spreading digital school-news to your peers! Whether it’s through sophisticated-informational videos, comedic skits, verbally anchoring, or social media posts, we relay the information accordingly. The required class you take before Titan TV is Digital Videography, where you learn all the ins-and-outs of video editing! After all the effort that’s required in the year is achieved, you can apply for Titan TV!” Scarlett Russo, a junior and producer of the program explained.
Idea Generation and Collaboration:
Another crucial element of Titan TV lies in its content. The team is required to maintain consistency and thoroughness, ensuring that they deliver fresh, engaging content to students daily.
New ideas for Titan TV are sourced from various channels. Clubs can regularly submit their concepts, and school leaders may request announcements or interviews. Additionally, during regular meetings, executives will collaboratively brainstorm ideas for skits, public service announcements (PSAs) , and other equally engaging content.
Skill Development:
Titan TV also places a heavy emphasis on the importance of technology, as it’s pivotal for the overall production quality of the program. Last year, the team got a new TV for their main set and they also have Macbooks throughout the classroom for all of their editing needs.
“Students within the Titan TV program gain so many computer skills like learning how to edit pictures as well as taking videos and pictures. We all have the opportunity to get Adobe Certified in Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as more,” producer Emerson DePriest, a Junior, stated when asked what skills students typically take from the program.
Camaraderie and Connections:
Beyond skill development, Titan TV fosters a sense of camaraderie among its participants. The students spend a significant amount of time together as the program spans from first to second period, compelling them to forge connections that extend beyond the studio.
