The Olympia High School football team took on West Orange for their final home game on their senior night. This special night gives recognition to these players who have worked hard for four years and honors their commitment and accomplishments as members of this team.
The evening of October 26th, 2023 commemorated these Olympia football players, cheerleaders, and athletic trainers.. friends, neighbors, and staff came together to express their appreciation for these seniors. Parents and family members walked with their children, leading them down the football field in a moving display.
Jullius Benjamin, a senior safety, has played football since he was 4 years old. He reminisces on his favorite memory, when the team beat Dr. Phillips High School. Last year was an unforgettable game, as our Titans defeated our biggest rival, Dr. Phillips, for the first time in over 11 years. Benjamin believes the rivalry win made an impact on our team and definitely brought this team closer.
Senior night is a special night for all participants, especially with our team going against one of our major rivals, West Orange. Ultimately, the Titans finished the game winning 34-20, leaving with a district championship victory and guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs. With family members supporting them in the stands with shirts and posters of their faces, these players got to enjoy the night and end on a win.
