The annual Powder Puff football game delivered nonstop excitement and endless energy as students packed the stands for one of the most spirited Homecoming week traditions. The competition kicked off with seniors facing sophomores on one side of the bracket, while juniors took on freshmen on the other. The seniors quickly showcased their strength, sprinting past the sophomores to claim a spot in the finals. Across the field, the juniors displayed determination, holding off a fast freshman team and advancing with a narrow win.
“The game was genuinely very fun to watch, it had me on my toes the whole time, especially when it came down to the final game against the juniors,” senior Laycie Cobia exclaimed.
In the consolation game, the sophomores battled the freshmen in a friendly but fierce matchup that showcased teamwork and tenacity. With every play, the crowd’s cheers created an atmosphere full of school spirit and student pride.
That set the stage for the showdown everyone was waiting for: juniors versus seniors in the championship game. The game turned into an unforgettable finale, going into overtime not once but twice before the seniors finally sealed the win. Fans were on their feet as the seniors celebrated, capping off the night with chants and cheers echoing across the field.
“The game turned when I saw those girls shifting and getting up the field, I was thinking dang, we could use them on Fridays,” junior Keyshaun Marcelus said
The Powder Puff tradition once again proved to be more than just a game — it was about athletic competition, community, and Homecoming celebration. From fierce first downs to dramatic double overtime, the night was filled with fun, friendship, and fantastic football.
