Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and our school is filled with excitement. Students prepare for the annual candy gram tradition that will take place on February 13th and 14th.
This sweet gesture allows students to send out heartwarming messages and delicious treats to their friends, spreading love and joy throughout the school. This is a great way to show appreciation and kindness to your peers while remaining within the constraints of OCPS Valentine’s Day policy.
For this year’s candy gram tradition, nice sweet treats and small mini teddy bears will be available for purchase. The selection provides something for everyone, making it easy to spread joy and appreciation throughout the school. These selected items not only bring plenty of smiles but also support the broader goals of fundraising and community building for the Italian Club and Honor Society.
Candy grams aren’t just about selling candy, they are sold as a fundraiser to support the club’s community service efforts. At our high school, the money raised from selling candy grams goes towards supporting others, such as community service projects for the local elementary school. Additionally, the funds help cover dues for students who might otherwise be unable to participate in school activities. This takes away any shame that students could feel and no one is excluded or left out. This way, the candy gram tradition not only spreads joy but also support within our school community.
“Doing the candy gram fundraiser is fun and comes with good benefits because it helps us raise money for good causes, not just to have the money to have but to spread it for those who can use it for good, beneficial reasons,” senior Geriana Pacheco expressed.
“We do fundraisers for elementary school community service and to help others who couldn’t pay their dues so they won’t feel excluded and left out,” senior Giovanna Bertolucci explained.
“I always look forward to doing candy grams. It is an easy way to spread love and make everyone feel happy and special. It also brings a lot of positivity into the school,” William Edwards senior expresses.
Overall, candy grams are an amazing way to spread appreciation and make special holidays even more memorable in school. Purchase your candy grams during A + B lunch outside the cafeteria on Thursday and Friday for $5.
