Lights, Camera, Dance!

Lights, Camera, Dance!

The lights are dimmed, the crowd is filled, and the dancers are in place!  Lights, Camera, Action! It was time for the Third Annual Winter Dance Showcase put on by Ms. McGarvey. With expectations high because of the amazing shows that came before, the dance team knew they had to bring their A-Game!

With the auditorium transformed into a winter wonderland, the Dance Department showcases many different dance genres from beginner, intermediate, and advanced dance classes, as well as some special performances from small groups! The winter spirit was brought through by various styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, and even hip-hop! With the many dance genres, each one was able to convey a story that reflected the dancers’ hard work and dedication.

Staff, parents, classmates, and friends filled each of the seats to support their dancers and made sure to cheer loudly for every performance, showing their titan pride!

“I was very nervous about performing because this was my first time being on stage, but as I was dancing the nerves started going away move by move, and I was able to persevere and push through the 2 performances I was in,” sophomore Julessia Thomas shared.

The dance department is already starting to put in work towards their spring showcase in the spring, but for now, the students are enjoying the feeling of putting on a show-stopping performance!
