With the hope of trophies and medals in the foreseeable future, Olympia High School’s Titan teams are getting ready to take on the challenges of the spring and look to make noise. The Olympia spring sport season will include baseball, water polo, softball, lacrosse, track & field, tennis, beach volleyball, boys volleyball, and flag football. Preparation is key to success, and preparation for their goals will help each team achieve victory this spring season. Let’s take a look at how these Titans are preparing for their upcoming seasons.
How are you getting prepared for your spring sport?
Water Polo
Camila Soares (12th) – Giving my 100% effort at each practice to prepare me for the season.
Softball
Nellie Robinson (10th) – I’m working on creating a bond with my teammates so going into the season we have the connection we need to succeed.
Baseball
Blace Kamaka (12th) – I’m helping myself and my teammates to get the fundamentals down that will get us ready for the season.
Boys Lacrosse
Lucas Teixiera (12th) – With being a captain, I am teaching my teammates new stuff everyday and pushing them to be better.
Girls Lacrosse
Ava Pazos (10th) – I am training as hard as I can, making practices competitive so we get ready for the big games we have ahead of us.
Track & Field
Gavin Mills (11th) – Each and everyday, I go out and practice and try to be faster than I was the day before, pushing myself and other teammates to do the same.
Tennis
Isabella Scherer (12th) – I try to go out everyday and learn something new to improve my game before the season comes around.
Beach Volleyball
Ana Oliveira-Alves (10th) – I try to get the fundamentals down in practice so come gametime, it’s easier for me to incorporate what I practiced.
Boys Volleyball
Kevin Liang (11th) – I am getting mentally prepared for the season by building relationships with my teammates and the coaches.
Flag Football
J’nih James (12th) – I’m working on my quickness and agility so in the game I can be faster and juke out my opponents.
What are your goals for the spring?
Water Polo
Luke DiGiammarino (12th) – I want to have a great senior season and try to be the best leader possible for my teammates.
Softball
Julia Benamati (12th) – I want this season to be a very productive and fun year. It’s my senior year and I hope to bring home a district championship.
Baseball
Daniel Ortiz (12th) – I want to push my teammates to be the best they can this year. I want to win a district championship and make it to states.
Boys Lacrosse
Grayson Harper (11th) – This year is our year to make it to the playoffs. Our team looks really good and I’m super excited to see what our team can do this season.
Girls Lacrosse
Maci Mitchell (12th) – This team is super excited and pumped to win it all and is ready to advance to states! I will show my teammates unwavering dedication and leadership.
Track & Field
Omaria Gordon (12th) – I hope to have a great season. I want to win districts and hopefully make it as far into the playoffs as possible. I feel well prepared for this season.
Tennis
Ivan Ivanov (11th) – I believe this team can make it really far in the playoffs. I hope we come together and win some big games this season and carry it on into the playoffs.
Beach Volleyball
Emma Schutt (12th) – It’s my senior season and I will strive to give my team my hardest work and the most effort I can.
Boys Volleyball
Yessiel Arauz-Santos (12th) – I feel like this team can put together an amazing season and win districts. We have the talent and the chemistry to win a lot of games and I’m excited to see how far we can go.
Flag Football
Tia Dixon (12th) – I’m super excited for this year. I feel like our team has a great bond and we all have each other’s backs. Hopefully we can bring home a district championship.
